Veterans Dessert Show - 2:30 p.m., Gresham Elks Lodge 1805, 3330 N.E. Division St. There will be desserts, punch, coffee and entertainment, all for $5. Proceeds go to help bus passes for veterans at the VA Hospital. Call 503-666-1805.

Free Weatherization Workshop - 6 to 8 p.m., Alder SUN School, 17200 S.E. Alder St. Participants learn how to lower home energy use and install effective weatherization materials in their homes using basic tools such as scissors and a screwdriver. Income-qualified Portland households receive a free kit of materials worth more than $150; people not eligible for a free kit can purchase materials from the Community Energy Project. Little Trout Play Park - 10 to 11:30 a.m., Glenn Otto Park, Sam Cox Building, 1106 E. Historic Columbia River Highway, Troutdale. Toddlers through 5-year-old children can enjoy an hour and a half of fun and frolic. Adult supervision is required. No registration is needed, but the cost is $1.50.
