Police search for shooter after NE Portland man dies

Police are looking for the man who allegedly shot and killed his 48-year-old stepfather in East Portland late Tuesday night.

The stepfather, identified as Michael Earl Ford, died after being taken to a local hospital for treatment of a life-threatening wound.

The death occurred after a domestic violence incident between a stepfather and stepson, police said. Detectives have not released the identity of the stepson.

Officers from the North Precinct were called at about 11:25 p.m. to a house in the 3900 block of Northeast 149th Avenue where a man had been shot. The shooting suspect left before officers arrived.

There has not been an arrest in this case. The family is cooperating with investigators.
