Citizens of Stafford Hamlet and the neighboring communities of Lake Oswego, West Linn and Tualatin are hosting a public “Stop the Stink — Save Stafford” rally June 8 at 11 a.m. at Wanker’s Corner, located at the intersection of Stafford and Borland roads in West Linn.

The rally will highlight local opposition to S&H Logging’s proposed 25-acre industrial composting and mining facility near Wanker’s Corner — which is near two schools.

Friends of Stafford and other citizens have been fighting the proposed facility for nearly two years. Efforts are currently underway in the state Legislature to pass laws that better define the proper siting of such facilities, mandating a minimum 1,500-foot buffer from schools.

Friends of Stafford is a registered Oregon nonprofit organization. For more information, visit
