Driver fights with police after flipping car on trolley track
A Portland police officer was injured arresting a suspect Friday evening. She suffered an injury to her leg and was treated and released from an area hospital.
According to police, at 7:52 p.m. on Nov 11, a Central Precinct officer observed a silver Audi TTI driving recklessly in the 5600 block of Southwest Riverside Lane. The car raced down old trolley tracks and crashed and landed on its top.
As officers approached, the driver refused to exit the car. When he did, he assaulted an officer.
Officers were able to arrest the suspect after using pepper spray and a Taser.
The suspect may have been suffering from a diabetic incident, police say. He was cited for Reckless Driving, Assaulting a Public Safety Officer and Resisting Arrest and released.
