A tree was planted and a memorial stone laid Thursday at Forest Grove High School to honor the life of class of 2010 graduate and Navy hospitalman Ryley Gallinger-Long, 19, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in August. His mother, Susan Blanchard of Cornelius, and his older brother, Zack Gallinger-Long of Hillsboro (right), attended the brief ceremony before the school's annual Veterans Day assembly the same morning.
