Gresham actor takes on story of World War I veterans
Veteran actor Tobias Andersen, a Gresham resident, stars in the upcoming staged reading of 'Heroes' by Gerald Sibleyras and translated by Tom Stoppard, as part of the Readers Theatre 2011-12 season.
The play, directed by Dustin Milberg of Public House Theatre, tells the funny and bittersweet story of three French World War I veterans who keep each other company on the back terrace of a retired soldiers' home, exchanging quips and plotting to escape to a grand adventure in Indochina.
The performance will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at the Gresham Chapel and Evening Event Center, 257 S.E. Roberts Ave.
Tickets are $8 and will be available at the door.

'The Gin Game' by D.L. Coburn, March 19.
'Enchanted April' by Matthew Barber, April 16.

The Sandy Actors Theatre will hold auditions for its 2012 season from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Sandy Actors Theatre, 14733 Meinig Ave., Sandy, behind Ace Hardware.
Auditions will be cold readings from scripts. However, headshots, résumés, and/or monologues are welcome, but not required. If you have a prepared monologue, you will be given the opportunity to share it as an additional basis for consideration. All are welcome and no experience is necessary.
The theater is also recruiting the following crew positions: stage manager, assistant stage manager, lights and sound technicians, costumers, props, set builders and set painters.
