Stark St. History instructors Pat Casey and Elizabeth Milliken will present 'Protesting in Portland,' a look at the 1970 Battle of the Park Blocks and at other strikes and protests that have occurred in and around Portland. Join in for an evening of shopping for Mary Kay cosmetics, Silpada Sterling Silver jewelry, Miche purses and Gold Canyon candles. Friday Night Basketball - 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Walt Morey Middle School, 2801 S.W. Lucas Drive, Troutdale. Free basketball games for ages 12 to 17; sponsored by Troutdale Recreation and supervised by Troutdale police. Participants must bring photo identification and be dressed to play.


Fix-It Fair - 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Ron Russell Middle School, 3955 S.E. 112th Ave., Portland. Fix-It Fairs are free events designed to help participants save money and connect to resources. Exhibits and workshops cover food and nutrition, energy and water saving, weatherization, gardening, recycling and transportation. This is the only Fix-It Fair in East County this season. Guide Dogs for the Blind Graduation - 1:30 p.m., Guide Dogs for the Blind, 32901 S.E. Kelso Road, Boring. A public graduation ceremony for blind men and women who have completed the program and will return home with a new canine. Call 503-668-2100 for information.
