June Carlson

Longtime Lake Oswego resident June Carlson died Nov. 9, 2011. She was 85.

Mrs. Carlson was born May 8, 1926, in Portland to Fred and Myrtle Grohs. She graduated from Grant High School and attended St. Helen's Hall after high school. Her favorite class was archery, which she found amusing.

She married John A. Carlson on May 16, 1948, in Portland. The couple built their Lake Oswego home in 1952.

Mrs. Carlson enjoyed entertaining friends of her family members. She was always surrounded by music.

Survivors include her husband, John, of Lake Oswego; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Ray Gehlbach, West Linn; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Her daughter, Johanna Haglund, preceded her in death.

A memorial open house will be held Sunday, Nov. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at a favorite place of Mrs. Carolson's, the Coffee Nook. in the Palisades Marketplace in Lake Oswego.

Lisa Compton

Lisa Gilbert Compton died Nov. 6, 2011. She was 57.

Mrs. Compton was born March 21, 1954, in Portland to William and Barbara Treece Gilbert. The family moved to Lake Oswego in 1964, and she attended Lakewood Elementary, Lake Oswego Junior High, Lake Oswego High and graduated from Lakeridge High School the year it opened.

She studied at University of Oregon for a year and then moved to Bend before settling back in Lake Oswego.

Mrs. Compton worked for the Veteran's Administration.

She married Russell Compton in 1993. He preceded her in death.

Her longtime companion, Rick Ross, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sister, Gail Rigby, Stafford; niece, Jessica Ayers, Lake Oswego; and nephew, Brett Rigby, Portland.
