Construction is slated for completion by Aug. 20 on a new Dutch Bros. Coffee stand at the intersection of Evergreen Road and Highway 214. The opening date is expected about a week later, said Shannon Williams of Salem, who also owns the Dutch Bros. at the intersection of Mount Hood Avenue and Highway 99E in Woodburn.

This stand is expected to draw business from construction workers who will be working on the $70 million Woodburn Interchange Project as well as motorists stuck in traffic, said Williams, who does not expect the new stand to siphon off business from her existing one.

“Anytime a new stand opens, it kind of drops off at the other one, but it will come back up,” Williams said. “I think that since it is in such a different area of Woodburn and it being closer to the interstate, it will be fine.”

Construction on the interchange project is expected to begin this month with an official groundbreaking ceremony tentatively scheduled for July 29.

For its grand opening in late August, Williams said Dutch Bros. will be selling dollar-priced drinks with all money donated to the Woodburn School District, she said.

“It’s definitely a good thing,” she said. “It’s a good way to give back to the community.”

She will hire 10 new employees to man the stand, bringing her total up to 20 in Woodburn, she said.
