Arguing couple sends car into Brentwood-Darlington houses
A bickering couple, police say, ended up getting distracted by their argument sufficiently to veer their red Mazda MX3 coupe off S.E. Flavel and into Brentwood Darlington houses at about 3:30 am on October 28.
'Officers found that the car had been traveling westbound on S.E. Flavel Street, when the driver lost control and it drove through the yard at 7642 S.E. Flavel, hitting a front porch post, then continued through a neighboring fence and crashing through the front corner living room at 7632 S.E. Flavel,' reported Portland Police Bureau Public Information Officer Sgt. Peter Simpson. 'It finally came to rest after htting a pick-up truck parked in the second house's carport.'
Officers from East Precinct and the Traffic Division spoke with the occupants of the vehicle, and learned about the domestic argument which caused the driver to lose control and crash, Simpson added. The driver, 30-year-old Sara Isca, was treated by medical personnel at the scene. The passenger, 38-year-old Jason Pope, was transported to an area hospital with leg and ankle injuries.
No arrests or citations have been issued at this time, and an investigation is continuing, Simpson remarked.
