'A Holiday Gift of Music' - 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, Mt. Hood Community College, 26000 S.E. Stark St. The Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra's concert features popular holiday music, puppets from Tears of Joy and the Portland Symphonic Girl Choir. 'Christmas with the Pops' Concert - 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, Mt. Hood Community College Theater, 26000 S.E. Stark St. The Mt. Hood Pops Orchestra will perform Christmas-themed selections from Sullivan, Adam and Vaughan Williams, as well as holiday songs for an audience sing-along. 'A Little Bit of This and That' Art Exhibit - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays until Dec. 1, Gresham City Hall, Visual Arts Gallery, 1333 N.W. Eastman Parkway. Christmas and holiday events

Wood Village Christmas Tree Lighting and Events - 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, City Hall, 2055 N.E. 238th Drive. The city will light up its Christmas tree, an 85-foot fir, at 6 p.m. sharp. After the trees are lit, the Reynolds High School Expressions Choir will fill City Hall with sounds of the season. Fairview Christmas Tree Lighting - 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, Fairview City Hall and Fairview Community Park on Village Street. This fifth annual event features the countdown and tree lighting at 5 p.m., horse-drawn wagon rides, a visit from Santa Claus, holiday music and crafts, free hot cocoa for the kids, and treats from Bella Cafe. Troutdale Tree Lighting - 5:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, Mayors Square on Historic Columbia River Highway. Troutdale's Christmas tree lighting ceremony will begin at 5:45 p.m. at Mayors Square, with the Vivace Fireside Carolers performing.

The Reynolds High School 'Expressions' singers will usher in Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, who will arrive by fire engine to hand out candy canes. Visitors are encouraged to bring food and cash donations for SnowCap Community Charities, which provides food assistance for families in East County.

Christmas Along the Barlow Trail - 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, Oregon Country Settlement, 73370 E. Buggy Trail Drive, Rhododendron. The Cascade Geographic Society's 27th annual celebration is a free, festive gathering held on Mount Hood that features two special events associated with the history of the Oregon Trail, where it traversed around Mount Hood's southern flank. Features include 'Christmas Tales of Old Oregon,' Christmas caroling, a Christmas village, American Indian music, shopping, goodies and hot beverages. Free admission and parking. Rockwood Winter Family Festival - 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, Plaza del Sol, 18705 S.E. Stark St. This free, family friendly event at Rockwood's Plaza del Sol aims to bring families of the area to celebrate the holiday season. Santa will be on hand, and there will be live music, crafts, prizes and more. Bring the family and a donation of canned food to benefit SnowCap Community Charities.

Harlow House Christmas Open House - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 726 E. Historic Columbia River Highway in Troutdale. Built in 1900, the historic building was the home of Fred Harlow, son of Troutdale's founding father, Capt. John Harlow. It features a collection of family heirlooms and is on the U.S. National Registry of Historic Places. Stop by for some holiday spirit, enjoy a glass of wassail and cookies and even have your photo taken with Santa. There will also be a raffle drawing, with a lucky winner taking home a handmade quilt. 'New Views of the Old Moon' Planetarium Show - 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, Mt. Hood Community College, Planetarium Sky Theatre, 26000 S.E. Stark St. This show will focus on new findings on the moon made by recent spacecraft visits. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions during each 45-minute program.
