North Marion Hall of Fame
North Marion High School will induct its third class into the North Marion Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 5 at 7 p.m in the high school commons.
The 2013 Hall of Fame class includes Jack Berkey, Roger Moore, Steve Schrenk, Kelsey Kahle, coach Jim Bowman and the schools 1990 state runner-up softball team.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for social hour, desserts and refreshments, followed by the induction ceremony. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Proceeds benefit North Marion athletics.
Oktoberfest Golf Tournament
The 18-hole shotgun start golf tournament takes place Sept. 14 during Oktoberfest weekend at Evergreen Golf Course in Mount Angel. The four-person scramble includes lunch, prizes and complimentary coffee and donuts to start the day at 7:15 a.m.
Shotgun start is 8 a.m. The event raises money for local scholarships. Sign-ups are limited to the first 18 teams. Cost is $55 per person or $220 per team.

Oktoberfest Road Race
The Official Oktoberfest Road Race will be held Sept. 15 at Humpert Park in Mount Angel. The events begin at 9 a.m. Race registration and packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. Choose between the 5K run/walk, a 10K run and a kids run. Youth soccer signups
Recreational league signups for youth soccer hosted by Woodburn Recreation & Parks are available.
The eight-week season begins Sept. 14 and features divisions for co-ed kindergarten and first grade, as well as boys and girls divisions for second and third grade and fourth, fifth and sixth grade.
All games are held at Centennial Park soccer fields on Saturdays between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with one separate practice time during the week at various locations, depending on coach.

Champoeg half marathon
Registration is open for the 2013 Champoeg Half Marathon at Champoeg State Park on Sept. 22. The half-day event starts at 9 a.m. and includes a five-mile walk/run, a kids zone, childrens races and an award ceremony at 12:30 p.m.

This Saturday, the Woodburn Dragstrip will host a car show fundraiser, with all proceeds going to benefit Doernbechers Children Hospital.
