One person died Friday morning in a multiple car accident involving a semi-truck on Columbia Boulevard at Northeast 47nd Avenue.

Portland police said 26-year-old Willow Michelle Thorpe was killed in the accident.

According to police, the accident happened at about 7:06 a.m. Thorpe was driving a white 1996 Chevy Blazer west on Columbia Boulevard when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound white 2008 Volvo semi-truck driven by 35-year-old Ibrahim Halilovic. The truck's trailer was filled with flour.

Police said Halilovic was driving east on Columbia when the truck collided with a silver 2010 Toyota 4Runner driven by 64-year-old Roderick Hawthorne north on Northeast 47th Avenue.

The collision sent the Volvo semi-truck into the westbound lanes of Columbia Boulevard, colliding with the Chevy Blazer.

Portland firefighters had to cut Thorpe from her vehicle.

Traffic was blocked for several hours on Columbia Boulevard during the accident's investigation.
