Teen arrested in suspected gang stabbing
Portland police have arrested a teenager for stabbing another teenager in the back Friday evening in a suspected gang-related incident.
The victim, 16-year-old Louie Aguilar, is recovering in an area hospital following surgery.
The suspect, 16-year-old Salvador Ramirez, is charged with Measure 11-level assault and booked into the Multnomah County juvenile detention center.
According to police, at 6:21 p.m. on Nov. 25, East Precinct officers responded to a report of a stabbing at Southeast 72nd Avenue and Flavel Street. When the officers arrived, they found the victim in a convenience store at that location. He told the officers he had been stabbed elsewhere.
The victim was transported to an area hospital. The stabbing was investigated by the officers and the Gang Violence Reduction Team.
