Main Street traffic headed both ways
After delays, project set to begin Tuesday
Because of a favorable weather forecast, the Oregon City's striping subcontractor is on schedule to install striping on Main Street Tuesday, Nov. 29.
New roadway striping is required to convert Main Street from one-way to two-way traffic and requires closing adjacent (bluff side) parking spaces between 6th and 9th Streets.
Optimal conditions for this striping work is dry pavement and temperatures of 45 degrees or higher. Striping will include a centerline and directional arrows for the two-way traffic conversion.
The city thanked all downtown businesses and their patrons for their continued patience after the weather delayed the project during the past couple weeks.
A video that describes the upcoming two-way circulation and parking changes on Main Street is available on http://www.orcity.org/community/two-way-conversion-and-parking-changes-main-street
The video shows changes in two-directional traffic patterns and changes from diagonal to parallel street parking between 6th and 10th in the downtown core business area.
