Vista House sets winter schedule
One of the most spectacular viewing spots in the Columbia River Gorge may be officially closed for the winter, but volunteers have been given the go-ahead to host visitors provided the wind gauge and road conditions are agreeable.
Executive Director for the Friends of Vista House, Marguerite Perry, said volunteers are lined up to greet visitors at 9 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, 'when it isn't too windy or icy.' The Vista House is closed to visitors when gorge winds reach 40 mph gusts.
