Portland police continue to ask for the public's help finding a missing young man who they believe could be injured and in need of medical care.

Officers Wednesday, Nov. 30, responded to a request to check the welfare of Joshua Aguilar, 21, because recent behavior indicated he might pose a threat to his own safety, said Lt. Robert King, Portland Police Bureau spokesman.

Police were unable to find him, but relatives later that night reported seeing him outside a Gresham motel near Southeast 183rd Avenue and Stark Street. Aguilar reportedly ran off and disappeared.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, detectives from the Missing Persons Unit got involved after receiving new information that Aguilar may be injured and in need of urgent medical care.

Aguilar is described as a Hispanic male, 180 pounds, 5-feet-8-inches tall. He has a shaved head or very short brown hair and brown eyes. He has a number of tattoos on both arms and gauge piercings in both ears. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hoodie, jeans and tennis shoes.

Anyone who knows of Aguilar's whereabouts is asked not to contact him, but to immediately call 9-1-1. Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to call Detective Mike Weinstein at 503-823-0446.
