PORTLAND - To repeat as Mount Hood Conference swim champions, the David Douglas girls knew they'd have to be ready out of the blocks. The schedule put two of the Scots biggest tests before school is let out for the holiday break. On Thursday night, David Douglas showed it is up for the challenge with a 44-point win over Reynolds.

Despite putting together four straight wins, the Raiders found themselves trailing by eight points halfway through the meet. David Douglas used its depth to tally a series of second-and third-place points to puts points on the scoreboard.

'Our team is always deep. We can miss someone, and there's always another swimmer to plug in and get the job done,' Scots coach Jim Bowe said. 'Top to bottom our group is one of the best teams out there.'
