Fatal injury blamed on jack failure
The body of an Aloha man reported missing was found under a car in his garage on Monday afternoon.
Patrick William Gow, 20, suffered a fatal injury when a jack supporting the car he was working on apparently collapsed at his Aloha home in the 17000 block of Southwest Heritage Court. A friend discovered Gow's body after he went looking for him, said Sgt. David Thompson, Washington County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Gow's mother reported her son missing at 5 p.m. on Monday, saying he didn't show up for work and she had not heard from him since Sunday night.
Deputies had just started to investigate when they were informed Gow's body was discovered in the garage.
Deputies investigating the scene determined there was nothing suspicious about the circumstances of Gow's death, ruling it a tragic accident, Thompson said.
Deputies notified Gow's mother of his death.
