SUNDAY, DEC. 18
Chess at the Library - 1 to 4:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Have fun playing chess or Chinese chess; the library will provide the equipment. All ages welcome.
Learning Lab: Guide to English Language Learning Resources - 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Learn about library resources and services, and practice skills with English-language-learning websites. Basic computer skills are required. Labs are offered in English, or participants may bring a translator.
Game On! - 2 to 4:45 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. Bring your favorite games to the library to share, and the library staff will provide snacks.
TechnoHosts - 3 to 5 p.m., Rockwood Library. Free one-on-one computer help for the whole family.
MONDAY, DEC. 19
Job Seekers Lab - 4 to 6 p.m., Gresham Library. Update your résumé, file for unemployment or apply for a dream job in this computer lab for job seekers. Limited technical support is provided.
TechnoHosts - 4 to 6 p.m., Rockwood Library. Free one-on-one computer help for the whole family.
TUESDAY, DEC. 20
Homeschool Book Party - 1 to 2 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. For homeschoolers ages 6-10. Read 'Chicken Feathers' by Joy Cowley.
Homeschool Book Group for Teens - 2 to 3 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. For homeschoolers ages 14-18. Read 'The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian' by Sherman Alexie.
Computer Lab - 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. Lab assistants are available to help beginners practice their computer skills. Spanish-language assistance is available.
Teen Lounge and Homework Center - 3:30 to 5 p.m., Rockwood Library. Use library computers, get homework help or just do homework and listen to music. For teens in grades sixth through 12.
Computer Lab - 4 to 7 p.m., Gresham Library. Lab assistants are available to help beginners practice their computer skills.
TechnoHosts - 4 to 8 p.m., Rockwood Library. Free one-on-one computer help for the whole family.
Intercambio/Language Exchange - 6 to 7:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Practice speaking English or Spanish in a friendly atmosphere. Beginners are welcome.
Yarn Club - 6 to 8 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. All experience levels and ages are welcome; bring your own supplies.
Take A Ride on the 'Polar Express' - 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Read a story, make a reindeer face and have a snack.
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 21
Puppet-Making Workshop - 2 to 3:30 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. Join members of the library's Teen Council in making scary monsters and puppets out of felt and fabric. All materials will be provided.
