Powell Boulevard claims another pedestrian

A 61-year-old woman, who was crossing S.E. Powell Boulevard on a dark and rainy night, didn't use the nearest crosswalk - and she was run down by an automobile at about 9 pm on November 22.
'Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car at S.E. 31st and Powell Boulevard,' reported Lt. Robert King. 'The car was traveling eastbound on Powell when the pedestrian was struck.'
When officers arrived, they found a passerby attempting CPR. 'The victim's injuries were too extensive; the woman died at the scene,' King said, adding that the car's driver had remained, and cooperated with the investigation.
'There is no indication that drugs, alcohol, or speed played any role in the incident,' King later added. 'Other than determining that the victim's name is Margaret Thatcher, no additional details are available at this time.'
