The Oregon City Elks Lodge has chosen Brittany Waite as the Teenager of the Month for November. She is the daughter of Roy and Lori Waite and is a senior at Oregon City High where she has a 3.98 GPA.
Waite is in the master choir, participates in forensics competitions, tutors math, is a student representative for Tateshina (Oregon City's Japanese sister city), is a member of the National Honor Society and has a black belt in Tae-kwon-do. She has been student of the month, is on the swim team and placed first in a speech and debate tournament. She also received a $100 award for participating in an ODOT driving study.
She is active in her church, volunteers with the toddlers and has been on a mission trip to Mexico. Her community activities include sending care packages to third world countries through the Samaritan's Purse Organization, donating clothes and helping with food bank and community outreach. She was a Kid Zone volunteer and has donated to Locks of Love four times.
Waite plans to attend college and get a master's degree in game design. She would like to be an independent business owner, travel and be a missionary all while 'thinking outside the box.'
