Local wedding vendors bring bridal show to Boring
During a summer conversation, two local wedding vendors pinpointed Mount Hood as an area brimming with wedding inspiration -- and a potentially booming wedding industry.
'We need to have a bridal show in Sandy!' Becky Nerpel and Donna Cole said in unison, and their planning for 'A Country Bridal Affair' began.
The bridal show, focused on weddings in rustic, outdoor settings in the Mount Hood area, will run from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Boring-Damascus Grange Hall, Highway 212 and Grange Street, Boring.
Cole said 15-20 Mount Hood area vendors, including officiants, planners, caterers, photographers, graphic designers, hair and makeup artists, and florists will be at the free bridal show.
Also, event-goers have the opportunity to speak with representatives from event rentals and view photos of their venues.
The bridal show will offer swag bags and a raffle for a basket of prizes. Tickets cost $1 for the raffle and benefit Wish Upon a Wedding, a nonprofit that provides weddings and vow renewals for couples of all sexual orientations facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances.
Event sponsors include Becky Nerpel of Studio 623 Photography, Donna Cole of Pearl and Roses Wedding Planning, Charity Chalmers of Chariteas, Barclay Event Rentals and Design by Toni DeWeese.
