Eagles take target practice vs. Bowmen

BOYS BASKETBALL - Centennial wins in second try at Tigard tournament
by: David Ball Centennial’s Max Campbell drives into the lane during the Eagles’ 65-45 win over Sherwood on Tuesday night.

It's hard to lose a game when you score every trip down court. The Centennial boys came close to pulling off that feat Tuesday, while picking up a 65-45 win over 5A Sherwood at the Tigard holiday tournament.

After trading the lead three times in the first quarter, Centennial took over in the second with a barrage of 3-pointers.

The scoring spree started when guard Xavier Tarver grabbed an offensive rebound only to find himself pinned on the baseline with nowhere to escape. He twisted his body and fired a pass to the top of the key where Luan Hau was set for an open trey, which swished through the net.

The Eagles passed the ball to all corners of the court, keeping Sherwood's defense on the move all night.
