Tim Breedlove wins 2011 Builder of the Year award
The Home Builders Association (HBA) of Metropolitan Portland recently awarded Tim Breedlove with its 2011 Builder of the Year award.
With an established history of devoting countless volunteer hours to the HBA, Breedlove most recently served as president of the nonprofit while also fulfilling his responsibilities as chief operations officer of Renaissance Homes.
HBA members are selected by a nominating committee who reviews candidates on the basis of leadership, participation in the HBA, support of the industry and community involvement. The HBA recognized Breedlove's leadership over the last several years as he helped guide the organization through its most challenging years to date.
His management perspective, advice and financial experience led the HBA to incorporate essential changes needed to operate within a significantly reduced budget and staff while still finding ways to increase services to their members.
Breedlove used these same skills to carve out new business niches for the Portland-based home builder, Renaissance Homes, helping establish the new Vintage product line which builds craftsman style homes on vacant lots in Portland's most beloved neighborhoods. The Vintage line uses the Living Green building process, which encompasses the energy efficient technologies and innovative green products that Renaissance has become known for.
'Tim Breedlove's participation and involvement over the last few years is valued by the HBA. His perspective on key issues is a positive contribution to the board and committee meetings he attends. Tim consistently pitches in wherever needed and brings together different parts of the association. He served as a panelist at builder forums, supported HBA home tours and events, and promoted the work of PRO and remodelers,' according to the HBA in a release.
As one of the HBA's most recognized public faces, Breedlove expertly conveys challenges and issues in the homebuilding industry in a way that is respected and valued by elected leaders. Whether in one-on-one meetings, HBA-organized forums or informal conversations with policy makers, he has grown the influence of the local homebuilder in the Northwest and continues to do so.
'We are really proud of Tim's accomplishments which mirror our mission statement at Renaissance - to provide unparalleled quality and to give back to our community. Tim is a dynamic individual that pursues excellence in everything that he does and we're so pleased to have him as part of our team,' said Randy Sebastian, president of Renaissance Homes.
