Wednesday arrest comes after years of offenses, mother of victims says
A man known to have frequented locations where children typically gather in Milwaukie was lodged at Clackamas County Jail this week on $250,000 bail in connection to six counts of first-degree sex abuse and an unlawful penetration charge.
In addition to hanging out at local libraries and the Clackamas Town Center, Brandon Ray Brown, 33, is accused of befriending victims' mothers to gain access to children.
Michele Kahindi, mother to two of the alleged victims, said Brown sat her down on the couch at her Island Station home to admit to sexual abuse that occurred earlier this year.
'After 15 years of friendship, he told me he had done horrible things to my kids,' Kahindi said.
She demanded that he turn himself in immediately, and the ensuing investigation enabled Milwaukie Police to arrest Brown on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at about 8:41 a.m. on a felony warrant stemming from a Clackamas County grand jury indictment.
Brown is charged with sexually abusing three female children ages 8, 11 and 13. Two of the children reported occurrences of sexual abuse in April and May of this year. Another child reported that abuses had occurred between November of 2010 and January of 2011.
Milwaukie Police detectives are concerned there may be more victims who have not yet come forward. Brown has lived most recently in Milwaukie, but has traveled all over the country and has allegedly admitted to Kahindi that he was involved in sexual abuses as young as 15.
'He's really gotten around, and I really don't believe that he's laid dormant over the past 20 years without offending,' Kahindi said.
Anyone with information regarding other possible victims is urged to contact Milwaukie Detective Kevin Krebs at 503-786-7640.
