Tualatin artist will show variety of her work
Tualatin fine artist Anna Lancaster will be the featured monthly artist at the West Linn Public Library Gallery, 1595 Burns St., West Linn, Jan. 2 through 29, 2012.
Lancaster has named her exhibit 'Portlandia meets the Poconos.' It will include original oil paintings and oil impasto, mixed media paintings, and they show her artistic development from a painter of classical portraits to her current contemporary portraits, landscapes, seascapes and still life reflecting the influence of her Oregon experience.
The artist's opening will be held Saturday. Jan. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the library's reception room.
West Linn Public Library hours are: Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday noon to 5 pm.
Lancaster has been exhibiting and selling her art in Oregon since 2001. She has exhibited at area galleries such as the former Onda Galleries in Lake Oswego; on Alberta Street in Portland; Forever Art in the Pearl; the Gresham Visual Arts Gallery in Gresham, where she has received this year's Mayor's Choice award for her mixed media piece 'Warm Gathering' and the Juror's Choice award for her oil painting 'Cannon Beach Evening Sentinels' during the Gresham Arts Committee Annual Juried Exhibition. She also is a member and regular exhibitor at the Emerald Art Center in Springfield.
She has regularly exhibited in area art fairs and festivals, including the Lake Oswego Arts and Crafts show at George Rogers Park, Willamette Festival of the Arts at Willamette Park, Tualatin Art Splash at the Tualatin Commons, the former Tualatin Studio Tour, Washington County Artist Studio Tour and the Christmas and Spring in the Country bazaars at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds.
Lancaster also teaches weekly acrylic painting workshops in the discipline of the Painting a Day Movement at the Oregon City Michaels.
She also will exhibit several contemporary paintings at the Tualatin Starbucks at Martinazzi Square during the month of January.
