'Herding the Night Sheep' Art Exhibit

WHAT: The Mt. Hood Community College Fireplace Gallery presents the works of Jennifer Gillia Cutshall. The Portland artist says, 'I paint to solve problems. I am drawn to the struggle that image making presents, and I always return to the process. As I paint, I sometimes weave bits of memories and/or mementos (from past paintings, sketches and letters) throughout the painting.'

WHEN: 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3-30.

New Year's Eve at Edgefield

WHAT: Head into the New Year with a full night of live music. The Sonny Hess Band will perform in the Winery at 8 p.m. At 9 p.m., party to the blues rock of Billy D and The Hoodoos in Blackberry Hall (hotel guests only). Or head to the Power Station Theater for rockin' honky-tonk funk by The Quick and Easy Boys.

WHEN: Music starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31.
