The Gresham Elks delivered 150 boxes of food to needy East County families Saturday, Dec. 17, which is an annual event for the Elks each holiday season.
The boxes of food, which each contain a turkey, are personally delivered by volunteers to the families, whose names are provided by Human Solutions, said Betty Chisum, spokeswoman for the Gresham Elks. Volunteers deliver the boxes on Saturday.
Members of the Elks and their families on Friday night, Dec. 16, packed all the boxes, Chisum said. She credits the hard work of committee members Jim Foreman, Bill Hay and Jim Hossmer.
The Gresham Elks meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at 3330 N.E. Division St. For more information, call 503-666-1805, ext. 0.
