Edward Aquino of Beaverton, age 60, died Monday at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are pending through Tualatin Valley Funeral Alternatives in Beaverton, which will release a complete obituary next week.

Raymond L. Faulk Sr.

Oct. 22, 1948-Nov. 24, 2011

Raymond L. Faulk Sr. died Thursday, Nov. 24, at his Forest Grove home. He was 63.

Private cremation rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove.

Mr. Faulk was born Oct. 22, 1948, in Portland, the son of the late Lloyd Faulk and Marjorie (Mayham) Faulk. He was raised and received his education in North Plains.

He was united in marriage to Sandra Pauline Reed on Aug. 31, 1967, in Gresham. Following their wedding, they made their home in Washington and Oregon. They later divorced.

For many years, Mr. Faulk made his home in Verboort, until 2004, when he moved to Forest Grove, where he resided ever since.

He worked as a laborer in the asphalt paving industry for several years, until he was forced to go on disability and had to retire.

He enjoyed fishing and caring for his flowers. He also loved caring for his cat, Pretty Girl.

Survivors include his four children, Kevin W. Faulk of Seattle, Billiejo Grosz of Grants Pass, Marjorie Bounpraseuth of Auburn, Wash., and Raymond Lloyd Faulk Jr. of Aloha; sisters Alice Campbell of Portland, Sharon Street of Cornelius and Carol of St. Helens. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial contributions to local food banks and churches in his memory.

John N. (Jack) Parker

July 27, 1935-Dec. 21, 2011

A celebration of the life of John N. (Jack) Parker, who died Dec. 21 at the age of 76, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m. in Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home Chapel, 4101 N.W. Skyline Blvd., in Portland. Visit his memorial and online guestbook at

Robert Leo Thompson

June 4, 1937-Dec. 22, 2011

A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced later for Robert Leo Thompson of Hillsboro, who died Dec. 22 at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital of kidney failure.

Mr. Thompson was born June 4, 1937, in Mountain Grove, Mo., the son of Charly and Viola Thompson.

He grew up in Lebanon, Ore., and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1956. He later earned an associate's degree at Portland Community College.

On Jan. 13, 1956, he married Marie Hurst in Lebanon.

He worked for the city of Tigard for 31 years, until his retirement in 2002.

Mr. Thompson was Santa Claus for the city of Tigard and also served as Grandpa Bear for the cities of Tigard and Vernonia for many years.

He was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

Survivors include his wife Marie Thompson; son Rick of Hillsboro; daughter Bonny of Johnson City, Tenn.; sister Hazel Thompson of Hillsboro; grandchildren Brook, Lynsey, Derik and Madia, all of Hillsboro; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charly and Viola Thompson.

Memorial donations in the name of Robert Leo Thompson to New Life Baptist Church in Hillsboro are suggested.
