Army Reserve Pvt. Hoang H. Tran graduated from basic military training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Mo.

During AIT, Tran trained to be a bridge crewmember and learned to operate vehicles, boats and trucks used for bridge construction. He also learned to arm and disarm landmines.

Tran, a 2000 graduate of Clackamas High School, is the brother of Quang Tran of Fairview.
