East County New Year's church services

The following East County churches will offer services on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day:

East Hill Church, 701 N. Main Ave., will welcome the New Year with a special message given by Ted Roberts, former senior pastor and current president of Pure Desire Ministries International, during services at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, and at 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1.

Faith United Methodist Church, 27400 S.E. Stark St., Troutdale, invites everyone to join in welcoming the New Year with a service of music and Holy Communion at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1.

The service will include the singing of carols, and will be followed by a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m.

There will be no morning worship on Jan. 1.

St. Luke Episcopal Church, 120 S.W. Towle Ave., will host its annual Children's Pageant and Family Service at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1. All are welcome, and children can join in the pageant.

Wood Village Baptist Church, 23601 N.E. Arata Road, will host services at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1. Pastor Bill Ehmann's message will be 'Finish Well in 2012' and is based on Colossians 3:1-17.

The church's Sunday bulletin will feature a page called 'Helps for Finishing Well in 2012.'
