dred “Millie” Janice Swanson, 72 of Prineville, passed away on May 24, 2012.
Millie was born on July 22, 1939 in Ogallala, Neb. to Charles and May (Stone) Peters.
Millie graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland, Ore. She then married and started a family.
Millie was known to many as a jack of all trades. She worked many jobs, such as waitressing, brick laying, and she even worked for the Rose Garden Arena setting up events from concerts to Trailblazer games. She had a very strong work ethic and dreamed of one day retiring and moving to Central Oregon, which she did. Millie moved to Prineville in 1997.
Millie enjoyed sewing, knitting, keeping up with friends and family on the computer, golfing, and spending time with her many friends and family. She also enjoyed riding on Harley Davidson motorcycles; she once rode cross-country on a motorcycle.
Millie is survived by her two daughters, Katherine Gallagher and Jackie McGinnis; two sisters, Dorothy Peters and Helen Gray; brother, Donald Peters; her partner in crime, Debbie Beitz; her dear friends, Dean Pritchard and Kenny Beitz; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her two beloved shih tzus, Jasmine and Mickey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Clifford, Leo and Harold Peters; three sisters, Bobbie Webbar, Vera Sheppardson and Genevieve Inquam; and her lifetime companion, Albert Hansen.
