othy Lorraine Anderson, 87, of Prineville, passed away on May 25, 2012, at her home in Prineville. A service will be held at a later date.
Dorothy was born on April 4, 1925 in Portland, Ore. to Vern and Josie (Hiatt) Fowler.
The family moved to North Dakota in 1926 and Dorothy spent her young years on the family farm near Sanish, ND. The family returned to Oregon in 1939, and settled in Oregon City, Ore.
She graduated from Oregon City High School in 1943, and Dorothy then married and started a family, as well as working a number of different jobs. She once owned her own catering business in Southern California and catered to many celebrities, including Bob and Dolores Hope. Dorothy married her husband James A. Anderson in 1974. They moved to Prineville in 1981.
Dorothy enjoyed hunting, camping, playing the organ, knitting, and spending time with her family.
Dorothy was a member of the Lutheran Church, the Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary in Prineville, and enjoyed volunteering for their various events and functions.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Michael Richards of Prineville, son, Gary Richards and his wife, Bonnie of Sandy, Ore.; daughter, Diane Uppman and her husband, Michael of Monterey, Calif.; sister, Bernice Fickardt of Oregon City, Ore., brothers, Donald Fowler and his wife, Evelyn, and Dale Fowler and his wife, Norma of Oregon City, Ore.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Anderson; her parents, grandson, Robert, and granddaughter, Connie.
