Gladys was born May 24, 1928, in San Francisco, Calif. to Edwin B. Rife and Alice Clarenda Rife.
She attended Crook County High School. She then married Darrell C. Cook Dec. 24, 1948, and started a family.
She worked in the potato fields, and then spent several years working at Burnett Box Factory.
Gladys enjoyed spending all the time with her daughter, shopping, and visiting friends. She loved fishing and camping, and splitting wood, and she also loved to dance.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Darrell Cook of 62 years of marriage; four daughters, Edith Rife of Prineville, Carolyn Griggs of Prineville, Dolly Risland of Mitchell, and Norma Jean Reich of Salem, Ore.; three sisters, Bessie Stroebel of Grand Ronde, Ore., Ruby Golden of Prineville, Clara Watts of Tulsa, Okla.; and one brother, Robert (Bob) Rife of Culver; several nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bill Rife, one daughter, Marylee Young, one grandson, Kelly Linker, and one granddaughter, Tonya (Patrick) Malloy.
