Logger boys defeat Ukiah/Long Creek for secon win of season

Mitchell boys go 1-2 over the week

The Mitchell High School boys basketball team got their second win of the season as they defeated Ukiah/Long Creek on Saturday, Jan. 12, by a score of 63-52.
   "Coming off of two losses boys team came out looking for a win," said Head Coach Nigel Shockey. "The boys are really starting to improve. If we can pull off a few more victories we will make the district tournament."
   Alex Raber led the team with 18 points, 12 rebounds and seven7 blocked shots. Pedro Motta added 15 points while Neeko Rachor and Pablo Apolo both had 12 points.
   Following the win the Loggers suffered two big setbacks as they fell on Friday, Jan.18, to Burnt River 57-25, then lost to Crane on Saturday 97-29.
   Against Burnt River Jimmy Bench led the Loggers in scoring with 10 points.
   On Saturday, Crane jumped all over the Loggers and had six players score in double figures led by Baxter Davies with 26 points.
   River Hawley added 23 points for the visiting Mustangs while Jordan Conaway had 21. Motta had seven points for the Loggers, while Rachor added six.
   Mitchell is now 2-8 on the season and 2-7 in league. Crane is leading the league with a perfect 9-0 league mark.
