by: LON AUSTIN/CENTRAL OREGONIAN - Freshman guard Sasha Stepanova drives around a screen by Esther Huiskes in Mitchell's loss to Crane on Saturday.

In girls basketball the Loggers lost all three games, dropping a reasonably close game to Ukiah/Long Creek 43-30, then Losing to Burnt River 50-16, and falling to Crane 77-12.
The Loggers team is almost entirely foreign exchange students with no previous basketball experience, and it shows on the basketball court.
"The girls are continually making progress," said Shockey. "They did a great job against Ukiah."
Against Ukiah Anja Hohls had a huge game, scoring a career high 22 points. Four of the five Mitchell starters fouled out of the game.
On Friday against Burnt River, and again Saturday versus Crane Hohls led the Loggers in scoring with six points each night. Celina Kezerle led Burnt River in scoring with 15 points on Friday night. On Saturday September O'Crowley led the Crane Mustangs in scoring with 18.
Next up for the Loggers is a non-league contest against Mt. Bachelor at Mitchell on Tuesday, Jan. 22, with a 5 p.m. tip off.
