Crawford throws his hat in the ring

Seth Crawford announces his candidacy for Crook County commissioner
Real estate broker Seth Crawford has filed for Crook County commissioner position No. 1.
Crawford, who works at Coldwell Banker Sun Country, filed his papers Monday with the Crook County Clerk's Office.
Crawford lives in Prineville and served on the City of Prineville Planning Commission.
Crawford, a Republican, is running for the seat currently held by long-time County Commissioner Mike McCabe. McCabe has announced that he is running for the county judge position.
"Well, I'm running for commissioner for Crook County to help shape Crook County in the years to come," Crawford said. "I want to make sure that Crook County grows responsibly for the people who live here and fiscally responsible in a way that allows others to join us without losing our identity."
"You know, I think with this current economic condition and how things are slowing up, I think it's important to maintain the budget without raising taxes. Regulating growth, the growth of our community, and bringing the right businesses to Crook County."
He graduated from Ulysses S. Grant High School in Portland and received his bachelor of political science degree from the University of Oregon.
"But I've been coming to Prineville for summers and family vacations since I was a little kid, visiting my grandfather Joe Stahancyk," said the candidate. "Crook County represents the best of America and it is filled with rugged individualists whose word you can rely on and who hold strong opinions."
