The Crook County Spurs 7th grade basketball team finished their season this past weekend finishing in third place at a tournament in Boise, Idaho, this past weekend
On March 22-23, they also finished third at a tournament in Seaside, Ore.
The team went undefeated in central Oregon this season, winning every game in school ball and playing in local 8th grade tournaments, and left the central Oregon area looking for more competition.
"We beat every central Oregon team," said coach Sari Verity. "Nobody can touch them. We have to play up as 8th graders, and venture out because they just need that extra competition."
Verity noted that she would like to thank all the parents and everyone who helped out with Crook County's basketball.
"We are excited about the future," she said. "I've heard several referees comment on our seventh and eighth-grade traveling teams and school teams. They say, `That when these girls are juniors and seniors they can't wait to see what Crook County does because they are just amazed at the level of play that they are at.'"
