The Crook County High School boys golf team finished third at the Mountain View Invitational on Tuesday, followed the next day by a second place finish at the Burns Invite.

The two outings were the teams' best showing of the year.
"We actually did quite well," said Head Coach Chuck Wilcox. "On Tuesday, we beat three teams from the Intermountain Conference."
At the Mountain View Invitational, Pendleton came out on top shooting a 318, Hermiston was second with a 326 and the Cowboys finished third with a 348. Jake Shinkle shot the low round for Crook County shooting an 82, while Matt York finished with an 85 and Caleb Henry had an 87.
On Wednesday, Burns won their own invitational shooting a 327 while the Cowboys were close behind with a 336. Caleb Henry had the low round for Crook County shooting a career best 81. For the first time this season the Cowboys had four golfers with rounds in the 80s as Daniel Teater joined Shinkle and York to all shoot in the 80s.
"Henry did a good job for us on Wednesday," said Wilcox. "He's been improving all year. York is doing a great job he's been really consistent for us this year and Shinkle has been pretty steady. The guys are pretty excited about placing second and third this week."
The Cowboys are in action again today playing in the Pendleton invitational. Today will be a challenge for us," said Wilcox. "We are just trying to improve every time out. We only have one senior so if these guys work at it they can be a real competitive team next year."
