>Both teams win four matches, but Madras wins the tiebreaker
The Crook County High School boys tennis team lost a heartbreaking match to Madras on Thursday, April 10.
The match ended up tied 4-4 with the Cowboys winning all of the singles matches and the White Buffalo's winning each of the doubles matches.
"They won the overall match because they had more game wins than we did," said Coach Dan Brown. "It was just that close."
In the closest match of the day Cowboys No. 2 singles Pierre Blaise came from behind to defeat Jason Garcia of Madras 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
"We did play well," said Brown. "Madras has got a lot of talent on the doubles side and we just weren't quite up to it. That's part of having a young team is learning what it takes to win close matches. The singles led the way this time and the doubles did the best they could under a tight situation, but couldn't quite pull it out."
Next up for the Cowboys is a two-day tournament at Treasure Valley Community College on Friday and Saturday.
