The Crook County High School girls golf team placed third at the eight-team Mountain View Golf Tournament on Friday, April 18.
>Finish behind both Bend and Summit
"Under the conditions, everyone played well," said Head Coach Grant Patterson. "They would have liked to shoot a little better but it is tough to play well under those conditions. The wind was blowing putts around and everything else."
Bend won the tournament shooting a 325, while Summit was second with a 343. The Cowgirls were third, two shots behind Summit with a 345.
"All in all-getting third and only losing second by a couple of strokes was admirable in the conditions," said assistant coach Kim Crofcheck. "I felt very sorry for the last two groups because the conditions got worse and it was very cold and windy. But it was a good precursor for the district tournament, because they got to play back to back and now we have a whole week off to practice."
The Cowgirls are not in action again until Friday when they host the pre-district tournament at Meadow Lakes Golf Course with play beginning at 12
