Neeko Rachor wins long jump

Rachor and Motta are the only Loggers to place
The Mitchell track team competed in the Columbia River Invitational Track Meet on Saturday in Boardman.
Neeko Rachor, who has the best 1A mark in the state in the long jump, led the way for the Loggers, winning with a leap of 20-10 3/4, and placed fourth in both the 100 and 200 meter sprints in times of 11.78 and 24.15 respectively.
"I was happy that he won," said Head Coach John Misner. "It didn't seem like anyone jumped well in that pit. There was a slight headwind and it seemed to throw everyone off."
The only other placer for the Loggers was Pedro Motta, who finished fourth in the 400 meter dash in a time of 56.53.
"Pedro did a good job in the 400," said Misner. "It has been his goal to go to make it to state and he has worked so hard."
Mitchell has just one more meet before the Big Sky District Championships as they compete in the annual pre-district meet at Condon on Saturday, May 3.
