Margaret Heusel

Margaret Heusel, a Prineville resident, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2007. She was 83 years old.
   Memorial services were held Sunday, April 15, 2007 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Prineville. Pastor Jose G. Galvez officiated. Private burial will be held in the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.
   Margaret was born in New York City, N.Y., on July 3, 1923 to Thomas and Catherine (Smith) Cox. Margaret graduated from high school in New York, and married Charles Heusel in June 1942, in New York City, and lived there most of her life. In the spring of 1982 she moved to Eugene, and then to Prineville in late 1998.
   Margaret was a foster parent for many years. She loved being a mother and loved animals. She was very devoted to her cats, dogs and children. She enjoyed knitting, needlework, painting in watercolors and pastels.
   She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Prineville, and the Humane Society of the United States.
   Margaret is survived by: her sons Charles and his wife Myueng Heusel of Plainview, N.Y., Thomas and his wife Rachele Heusel of Eugene, Ore., and Eric and his wife Jessica Heusel of Everett, Wash.; daughters Catherine and her husband Gene Grillo of Pasadena, Calif., and Monica and her husband Jason Bietz of Prineville, Ore., and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Charles in 1981 in New York. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of The Ochocos.
   Arrangements have been entrusted to Prineville Funeral Home.
