Reeher scores 20 in victory

by: LON AUSTIN/CENTRAL OREGONIAN - David Reeher shown at a recent practice scored 20 points and had seven blocks.

The Crook County High School boys basketball team defeated Baker High School 59-47 on Thursday, Dec. 20.
The Cowboys got off to a slow start, scoring only 8 points in the first quarter, but got things rolling in the second half for the victory.
"I thought that we had a pretty good mix of perimeter and our inside game; especially in the second half," said Head Coach Jeff Lowenbach. "We took a lot of threes early, but in the second half we kind of figured it out and got into a rhythm."
Crook County was led in scoring by David Reeher with 20 points and James Nunez with 15, while Jordan Danforth pitched in 11.
Nunez led the team in rebounding with six, while Reeher had 7 blocked shots.
The win evens Crook County's season record at 3-3. On Friday the Cowboy's go up against LaGrande, one of the top teams in 4A.
"They are a solid team," said Lowenbach. "They have got a bigger guy and some guards that can shoot the three, so it should be a pretty interesting day for us."
Following tonight the Cowboys are off until a tournament at Marshfield High School on Dec. 27-30, then they open league against Hermiston at home on Jan. 4.
"I would like to start hyping our first league game against Hermiston," Lowenbach said. "School is not in session yet, and it is probably one of our biggest games of the year."
