Christmas gifts appropriately wrapped by members of the Prineville Lion Club are being delivered by members of another local service organization, the Kiwanis Club. Kiwanians Phil Horton and Chet Petersen stopped by the Central Oregonian yesterday to show a small portion of the number of bags filled with presents. Over the next few days, Horton, Petersen and other Kiwanians will be making deliveries. The names of people these gifts will go to were taken from the Tree of Joy. According to Horton, there are still about a hundred names of kids on the Tree of Joy, and he isn't sure all will receive Christmas presents. "But we'll be making deliveries right up to Christmas Eve." Yesterday, today and Friday, pickup loads of wrapped and bagged gifts will be taken to homes in Prineville, Juniper Canyon and Juniper Acres, Petersen explained. "It'll be Post and Paulina on Saturday and then over to Mitchell and other Wheeler County residences."
