Juanita M. Cogburn

Juanita M. Cogburn of Prineville died Tues., March 20 at her home. She was 60 years old.
   She was born April 18, 1940 in Bend to Marion and Lucille (Wilson) Brownfield. She started school in Redmond and moved to Prineville in 1948 where she attended grade school through high school, graduating in 1959. She moved to Portland and attended Clark County Community College and received her nursing degree. She worked for Gresham Hospital as an intervention specialist. She also worked at S.T.O.P. in downtown Portland as a drug and alcohol counselor. She retired in 1986.
   She enjoyed reading, painting in oils, crocheting, and cooking.
   Survivors include her daughter Barbara Ann Cogburn of Oceanside, Calif.; mother, Lucille Brownfield of Boring; sister, Patricia Evans of Boring; one niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
   Memorial contributions in Mrs. Cogburn's memory may be directed to the Ochoco Care Center, 950 NE Elm St., earmarked for game supplies.
   Funeral services are scheduled for Fri., March 23 at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Prineville Funeral Home. Pastor Willard Fenderson will officiate. Visitation will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Prineville Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services at the Prineville Heritage Crematory under the direction of Prineville Funeral Home.
