Officially, spring happened earlier this week, but looking around town for signs of that long awaited event didn’t turn up many indicators. Central Oregonian photo intern Stephanie Wright was given the assignment to “go find true and clear evidence of spring.” Among the photos she brought back were little children playing at the playground, a group of elementary students wearing flowered and tie-dyed shirts as part of a “60s and 70s dress-up day” and this shot of a black cat seemingly watching as spring flowers slowly bloom. Another good hint that winter is over is the sunshine-filled blue skies we’re enjoying today. According to the weather service, though, spring isn’t old enough to maintain those conditions long. The outlook is for a day or two of possible shower activity.
