Appreciation list grows and grows

To the editor: As has been previously expressed, the Prineville Soroptimists had the distinctive pleasure of preparing and staging the Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet. Many individuals and businesses have been thanked for providing us with additional talents and/or tools to make this the “best ever” awards banquet. Without this volunteered assistance, our organization would have had to hire, pay out, more which would diminish the revenue as planned for our Scholarship Fund. Therefore, the list of “Thank yous” goes on! Added to our list of “Thank yous” is St. Joseph’s Parish Alter Society, Flowers in the Attic, Prineville Golf and Country Club, Church of the Latter Day Saints, Chaira Baxter, RonJo’s Radio Shack, Elk’s Lodge No.1814, Whispering Pines, Steve Allison and Redmond Albertson’s. Thanks also to the Chamber’s own Diana Bohle, Clara Johnson and Board of Directors for working with us and to (Judge) Scott Cooper without whose confidence we would not have been offered the contract. As an organization, the Prineville Soroptimists have paid tribute to our member, Barbara Williamson and her husband, Sid, for the incomparable hours they spent on the planning and decorations and so-much-more for the event. Incidentally, for everyone’s viewing pleasure, the jungle animals Barbara created for the banquet have taken up residence in the Children’s Section at the Crook County Library. Take time to peek in at the display — with or without accompanying children! The Prineville Soroptimist thank all of you who attended the banquet. We hope you have gained a new appreciation for the Soroptimists’ Senior Center, the facility and its place in our community. It often has the atmosphere of a “jungle” without the decor but it is always a happy, busy, productive place! You are welcome to drop in any weekday. You will be amazed at the activity!
