Clarence Wesley Piatt

Clarence Wesley Piatt of Prineville died Fri., March 2, 2001. He was 73 years old.
   He was born Aug. 3, 1927 in Portland to Wesley and Edith (Bishop) Piatt. He attended school in the Portland area and worked odd jobs after school before enlisting in the Merchant Marines where he traveled around the world several times. After he retired he went to Texas, then moved to Prineville in 2000 to be near family.
   He enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy on television.
   Survivors include stepchildren, Syble Theriot of Shreveport, Los Angeles, Barbara Goodson of Hemphill, Texas, Caroline Smith of Austin, Texas, Ernest Smith of Buna, Texas and Molly Baumgarte of Beaumont, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first and second wives and one stepson.
   Private cremation will be held. Memorials may be made to Pioneer Memorial Hospice. Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
